Printable Recipe

3 large sweet onions (such as Vidalia or Walla Walla), chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic powder

     Preheat oven to 350°F.
     Cook onions in butter in a large skillet,  over medium-high heat stirring frequently until onions are golden brown and tender - about 20 minutes.
     Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
     Transfer mixture to a casserole dish. 
     Bake, uncovered, 20-25 minutes until heated through. 
     Serve with tortilla chips or crackers.  (I used Crunchmaster Crackers)
