Printable Recipe

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (4 oz) can mushrooms, drained
1 (32 oz) bag frozen country style hash brown potatoes, thawed
2½ cups milk
3 tablespoon cornstarch
2 beef bouillon cubes, crumbled (Herb Ox are GF)
1 teaspoon salt

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a large skillet combine the ground beef and onion.  Cook over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain the fat and transfer mixture to a greased 9" X 13" pan or 2½ quart casserole dish.  Add mushrooms and potatoes to meat mixture.
Combine milk with cornstarch and stir until cornstarch is dissolved.  Pour milk into pan that was used to cook the meat.  Add bouillon cubes and salt.  Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until thickened and bubbly.  Add to meat and potato mixture.  Stir until well combined.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes.  Remove cover and bake for 10 more minutes.
